Grand, rejoice and glorious drawn upon the worth smiles of people celebrating the city-wide feast in honor of the conversion of St.Paul the Apostle, the city patron saint. January 25, date marked, a day which movements and gestures are filled with excitement, every inside happiness are scent of pleasure and every painted views are exactly indelible. The celebration usually lasts for several days including the celebration of the cityhood anniversary of Vigan commemorated every January 27. Eyes wide open, prepare yourself to be mesmerized and take the first step through the exploration that will definitely satisfy your taste buds and experiences.




Various activities are held upon this awesome day. An extraordinary adventure which every scenery you witnessed, a mind-blowing and astounding thoughts will be implemented in your head. First in the bucket list, the lively, artistic, vibrant and the biggest highlight performance of Longganisa Festival street dancing and chromatic parades with grin in pleasure. Kicking of with the next target are bunch of amusing featured activities such as extracurricular, Carabao painting, sleepless nights of events and Kannawidan Festival.

Unfortunately, as the pandemic strikes, we are not able to experience and witness the majestic feast. The feast altered in different ways in order the City Government of Vigan ensures the safety and health protocols are properly observes. Only some are done by this year such as trade and fairs, sport fest and Saniata ti Ylocos Sur Pageant Competition will be held with strict measures scheduled during the Kannawidan Festival. Priorities and consideration always comes first.

The pandemic devastatingly holding us back, a nightmare and almost clogged the celebration into a gloomy one. Just keep in mind that even if the celebration was unlike before, shout of joy was decreased and there were limits, culture will always and a lifetime weapon that stays in our heart and soul. Culture it not only about joy but the essence of perceive, embodiment, integrity, to embrace, also to improve and to dwell with it.
